THE FRENCH FACADE

Updated: Jun 22, 2020

THE FRENCH ARE KNOWN IN INDIA AS KIND & PEACE LOVING PEOPLE. BUT BELIEVE ME, THE STORY IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IN AFRICA. HERS'S WHY.

Since the beginning of the 19th century, European heavyweights like UK, the Netherlands, France and the Portuguese have striven for the riches of Asia and Africa. While the British established their supremacy in Asia, France exerted dominance on Africa.

The French empire in Africa at its peak looked like this:

The French unlike their British counterparts gave freedom readily without any violence & bloodshed. However they have imposed several terms and conditions which have crippled these African nations to this day. HERE,S HOW:

1. FOREIGN EXCHANGE

The French have forced these nations to deposit 50% of their foreign exchange to the Banque de France (French Central Bank). This is like giving half of your annual salary to your neighbors! This has lead to low GDP growth rates and mass poverty. This is because a lack of foreign exchange inhibits the ability of a nation to trade freely and have ample reserves.

2. CYCLE OF DEBT.

The French have also offered loans to these nations. This is like taking loan from the same neighbor whom you give your half salary. The French have been brazen enough to insert clauses which allow only French companies to get the contracts (just like our lovely neighbor). This has had a detrimental effect as French influence has increased twofold.

3. LANGUAGE.

The French gave freedom and left behind a legacy of well< French or francais. Now you would be wondering how language can curtail freedom. If I tell you that you no longer can use your mother tongue, how would you feel? language is a matter of pride for all of us and the French have again deprived the Africans.

4. ASSASSINATIONS.

Now you must be wondering what are the Africans doing? Well all I can say is they tried. The French intelligentsia Direction générale de la sécurité extérieure has executed or overthrown several political leaders who have tried to oppose or forego this agreement.. Here are 50 of them:

CONCLUSION

I have no personal vendetta against this beautiful country. Infact Le bleus are my favorite national football team. But this oppression & subjugation of Africa compelled me to express the FACTS.

AS ALWAYS COMMENTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. STAY HOME STAY SAFE.
